“Every little kid dreams of making an impact on the world, and little do they know that from birth and beyond, humans impact each other daily. I have been lucky enough to have the tools and resources to support my dream of making an impact. Being the first recipient of the Light The Way Teacher’s Scholarship is not only an incredible honor, but also a significant stepping stone in my academic journey. This scholarship has lightened the financial burden of my academics, allowing me to focus on my passion for teaching and making a difference in the lives of students. With this support, I can dedicate myself fully to my coursework at Washington State University, student teaching in local schools in Pullman as well as in Vancouver in the Spring of 2025, and professional development, knowing that I am one step closer to achieving my dream of becoming an impactful educator. Thanks to this scholarship, I can maintain my 4.0 GPA, stay active in clubs, and serve as a student ambassador for the education program.”
